Coveted: Opening Ceremony Shoes

Each week we’ll troll one of our favorite stores to give you our top picks for the season. This week we looked at Opening Ceremony’s shoes, here are the shoes we covet.

W28 Gradient Flat

Lace-ups have become my footwear of choice as of late, but spring means warmer weather and sweatier feet. And this is why the W28 Gradient Flat is too perfect. Even though the heel and toe are closed, side detailing on these suede flats allows your foot to breathe. I just bought them in teal, but now I’m lusting after the oh-so-Parisian navy/brown combo.

Alexander Wang Freja

As the resident Amazon, it’s my duty to pick one of the highest most uncomfortable looking shoes available. And so I pick the Freja by Alexander Wang, in canvas, because it’s HOT.

It’s perfect for dressing up a summer outfit, and the canvas stripe plays into the fun of the design. Wear them with a black dress or light grey jeans, and finish the look with a worn denim or leather jacket. If you’re looking for a version that’s a little easier to match, try the shoes in black leather.

And take solace in the fact that the heel is not a full stiletto, and when you’re drunk you can’t feel the pain!

Camilla Skovgaard Drop Point Heel

Camilla Skovgaard marries function and form in her Drop Point Sandals. These have a lug sole and sleek architectural asymmetry, bringing a whole new meaning to the side-profile shot. The wrap-around construction of the shoe elongates the leg, unlike the many ankle boot and gladiator-inspired heels that often cut across the leg. Rock these with a short feminine dress to highlight the strong construction of this black heel.

Warning: I would avoid walking on cobblestone streets in these shoes, though I’d risk a sprained ankle for them any day!

Ankle Boot Clog

My favorite pick from the Opening Ceremony shoe line is the Ankle Boot Clog. These boots were indeed, made for walking… The low wooden heel is super practical for a ‘girl on the go’ and the ruby toned suede is a perfect touch of color for the spring.  Pair them with a floral dress and a light denim jacket for a sunny weekend jaunt in the park, or even with a pair of tight dark jeans and a loose t-shirt for every day casual wear. The unique studded details are traditional to clog-style shoes, and Opening Ceremony has kept the look fresh and chic.

C02 Buckle Boots

Chloe Sevigny has been a fashion icon for decades, so it only seems appropriate that she would design her own drool-worthy line of clothing and footwear for Opening Ceremony. These buckle boots have been reinvented in a softer form for spring in a new grey suede. The detailed buckles give them a Western vibe, but also draw from the gladiator sandal trend, giving them enough character to be the focal point of any outfit. Pair them with skinny jeans and a boyfriend blazer, or take a hint from the designer herself and sport them with a pair of high-waisted shorts.

W2 Bow Heel

I can’t walk in heels for the life of me, but I also can’t say no to these phenomenal W2 Bow Suede Heels in black! Wear these with a cute dress/skirt or tucked-in skinny jeans. I love the dainty silhouette and it would take a lot of restraint for me not to get these in white too!
