Random Inspiration & Recent Purchases
So far my March purchases have kinda been inspired by the Vancouver scenery these days — grey with random spots of colour (cherry blossom trees are already blooming here!). Sick of the boots I had been wearing all winter, I went on a quest to find a pair that could transition to spring. I found these grey Zara combat boots, which match all the ideal traits I was looking for in a boot: Not overly heavy or masculine looking (I wear a size 9!) and just enough style and subtle embellishment to make them stand out, but not obnoxiously.
Next, in an attempt to diffuse some of the darkness in my 80% black wardrobe, I went into H&M with my eye on an orangey-coral patterned scarf — coral is going to be a big colour this spring. I left with an oversized white/gray/taupe scarf…Hey, neutrals always work and at least it isn’t black?!
The one area where I’m always down for some colour is in my makeup. MAC recently launched the Too Fabulous collection and I couldn’t resist the lip pencil Trimmed in Pink, a blue-based pink that is a cross between hot pink and fuschia. Layer any lip pencil all over the lip and add some gloss on top for a quick, lipstick-free pop of colour!
nice boots! they look satiny and comfy…..i recently bought a pink lipstick from mac that was a weird mix between being super pinkish and nude…wore it for a week but i like that pencil in the photo- looks more corally which is what i like!
