Whether its Gaga’s collaboration with the late McQueen, Beyonce’s Mugler tour wardrobe or Rihanna’s Vogue Italia spread, the musician as model and fashion icon has become part of the gig. Janelle Monae is a fashion icon we’re listening to.
Sometimes iconic fashion comes from transformation and innovation. And sometimes it comes from a signature look. The black tuxedo and space age updo have become Janelle Monae’s staples. For Monae, it’s about creating a timeless experience:
